Variable	Description
Presence of Children under 15	Low score shows an area containing very few children and a higher score shows an increasing presence of children
Age	Low score indicates an area with a young population and a higher score indicates an ageing population
Income	Low score shows an area containing a high proportion of households earning a low income and a higher score representing those on a higher income
Weekly Rent	Low score represents a low weekly rent payment and a higher score representing a higher weekly rent
Household Size	Low score shows an area containing a high proportion of single person households and a higher score shows an increasing household size, with the highest scores representing households of 6 or more people
Occupation	Low score represents those working in manual and unskilled jobs and a high score representing those in skilled and managerial jobs

The continuous scores are ideal for applications such as building statistical models and target selections and are normally distributed with an average of zero.
Factor scores are also available grouped into ten equal 10% deciles where the lowest factor score equates to decile 1, increasing to the highest score falling in decile 10.
